Available on the App Store

PlaybookSoccer gives soccer coaches the ability to create animated play diagrams and manage their virtual playbooks directly on the iPad. Designed to simplify the visualization of plays through animation, PlaybookSoccer breaks soccer plays down into individual steps and puts them back together to bring a coach’s vision to life for their players.

With PlaybookSoccer, soccer coaches can also easily manage and organize their plays as a virtual playbook. Each play can have any number of custom tags that soccer coaches can use to quickly access during game time.

Coaches can also display their plays onto a projector or TV to walk-through plays during a team strategy session (requires the Apple VGA Dock Adapter). And, if players or other coaches want to study the plays on their own, plays can be shared with other iPhone and iPad users of the app (iTunes File Sharing) or emailed as a PDF for printing out hard copies.

PlaybookSoccer is optimized for the iPad. For an iPhone/iPod Touch optimized version, check out PlaybookSoccer-To Go.

Praise for PlaybookSoccer

“I have used Soccer Blueprint, Tactfoot and currently use Tact-X, but your Soccer Playbook is the easiest to use and since I take my iPad with me everywhere (I don’t even bother taking my MacBook Pro anymore) your program is far superior. ” – Coach Bartolazo, U12 Division 2 accredited coach at Hornsby RSL, Sydney Australia, via email.

Hi am an really enjoying this APP, I just want to report a minor problem, and make a couple of suggestions.

    Problem:
When you select a player, it expands, and it stays that way, even if you select another player it still remain expanded, I have even seen two selected player stay expanded of BIG.

    Suggestions:
It would be good to have some kind of folders, I am getting to have two many drills, and it would be nice to sort them by catagorie, WARM-UP, TECHNIC, TACTICAL SEEPED etc.. hope you understand my point
I don’t know if is much to ask, but it would be great to be able to export the action play, this way you can give it to your player ahead of time, you know specially if they are 10 year old boys, animation helps a lot.

    Sincerely!

  2. Hi Armando. Thank you for reporting the sizing issue. I think this maybe something that only affects iOS 4.2 device, and have a fix for it on the way.

As for folders, I can definitely see how it would be helpful and will see what I can do. Just to let you know the app includes ‘Play Tags’ which offers a similar way to organize your plays. With Tags, you can label a play with multiple categories (if you choose) and later search for them by their Tag.

As for exporting animations… I’ve been looking into this, but have not yet found a way to do it. If I am able to find a way to do this, I would love to include it. Alternatively, it is possible to share your plays with iPhone/iPod Touch owners who have the PlaybookSoccer-To Go app. (Unfortunately, this may not be the best solution for your situation though.)
