PlaybookFootball

AVAILABLE NOW ON THE APPLE APP STORE!
PlaybookFootball gives football coaches the ability to create animated play diagrams and manage their virtual playbooks directly on the iPad. Designed to simplify the visualization of plays through animation, PlaybookFootball breaks football plays down into individual steps and puts them back together to bring a coach’s vision to life for their players.
With PlaybookFootball, football coaches can also easily manage and organize their plays as a virtual playbook. Each play can have any number of custom tags that football coaches can use to quickly access during game time.
Coaches can also display their plays onto a projector or TV to walk-through plays during a team strategy session (requires the Apple VGA Dock Adapter). And, if players or other coaches want to study the plays on their own, plays can be shared with other iPhone and iPad users of the app (iTunes File Sharing) or emailed as a PDF for printing out hard copies.

PlaybookFootball is optimized for the iPad. For an iPhone/iPod Touch optimized version, check out PlaybookFootball-To Go.

Is there any way to add an extra player per side (12) total for us coaches in Canada?
Thanks
Can we add a twelfth man foe Canadian football?
Hi Kris,
Yes! I’ve recently submitted an update that increases the number of allowed players per side to 12. It is currently awaiting Apple’s approval. PlaybookFootball-To Go for the iPhone has already been approved and updated to include 12 players.
Thanks!
Daren
Hi Kriz,
Just wanted to let you know that PlaybookFootball now supports up to 12 players per play. Canadian Football plays can now be fully supported. Thanks for the request!
Daren
Hey – is their a pc version of your software?
My friend has an IPAD and I was able to play on it – and it is an awesome app! But I don’t have an IPAD……..show me some love
Hi Jesus,
Thank you for the compliment! Unfortunately, I am busy enough as is maintaining the iPhone/iPad versions of PlaybookFootball along with the other sports. There is still much work for me to do and I do not foresee myself porting the app to any other platform in the short term.
PlaybookFootball-To Go is available for the iPhone if you have that, and works very similarly to PlaybookFootball. In fact, any plays that you create in PlaybookFootball are compatible and can be shared with users of PlaybookFootball-To Go.
Thanks again!
Daren
Is there a location we can share plays, maybe a forum or something like that. This is such a great app, I would like share/see others ideas and plays.
Hi Tim. I have setup community.daren.com just for this purpose. At the moment, not too many people are using it, but feel free to start posting and asking questions. If I can get some more time, in the future I’d like to be able to setup something a bit more concrete. Good luck!
Is it possible to modify the player position names in this app? I would like to use it for an Australian football game called Touch Football, which is similar to Rugby, except obviously not tackle. Is it possible to use this app for Rugby or Touch Football in its current format?
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steven! Unfortunately, I am not familiar enough with Rugby or Australian Touch Football. However, I can tell you that the app does support custom position names and 12 players per side (originally added for Canadian Football). What other type of support would Touch Football require? If it’s not too difficult it could be something I can add in. –Daren
Thanks daren. Custom position names is good. Touch is a six-a-side game played on a much smaller field (70m x 50m or 76 x 54 yards). Similar to Rugby, teams have 6 plays or Touches to try and score. Passes must always go backwards and if a player in possession is Touched he must stop and roll the ball between his legs to another player who picks it up and passes it. That’s the basics. If you are interested, watch this You Tube video of some of the best Touch in Australia.

The app will not let me delete plays on my iPad 2. Plz help.
Daren,
My delete button does not show up. Can you help please.
For football coaches, can this application be use as a play call component during a game? What I mean is, can I insert my entire playbook using this application on my ipad, with the ability to categorize each formation of plays?
Hi Fredrick. Yes, PlaybookFootball can be used to input all of your plays for storing to later be called up quickly during game time. There is a feature called “Play Tags” that allows you to tag each of your plays with a custom tag that makes them very easy and quick to find when you’re in a pinch. –Daren
Jr, Waymon, do you by any chance not have email setup on your iPad? I recently have been able to figure out why some users were not able to find the delete button and a fix is on the way. It should be available in the App Store in about a week. Thanks!
Would be nice to see a area for depth charts, i could use this for my football team.
Great idea! I’ll see what I can do…
