PlaybookBball-To Go

PlaybookBball Icon
Available on the App Store

PlaybookBball-To Go gives basketball coaches the ability to create animated play diagrams and manage their virtual playbooks directly on the iPhone. Designed to simplify the visualization of plays through animation, PlaybookBball-To Go breaks basketball plays down into individual steps and puts them back together to bring a coach’s vision to life for their players.

With PlaybookBball-To Go, basketball coaches can also easily manage and organize their plays as a virtual playbook. Each play can have any number of custom tags that basketball coaches can use to quickly access during game time.

Coaches can also display their plays onto a projector or TV to walk-through plays during a team strategy session (requires the Apple VGA Dock Adapter). And, if players or other coaches want to study the plays on their own, plays can be shared with other iPhone and iPad users of the app (iTunes File Sharing) or emailed as a PDF for printing out hard copies.

Hey Darren, I love this app. It is by far my most used app (for the Ipod Touch). However, is it possible to set up out of bounds plays? (Or is it there and I’m missing it?) Again, I cant get enough of this thing and share it with every coach I come in contact with. Thanks!

    Casey

  2. Hi Casey,

I’m happy to hear that you love the app! Yes, you can create in-bounds plays. To do so, you’ll need to create a new play and then edit the Court Settings > Court Size and select either In Bounds Half or In Bounds Full. This will create a new play with the corresponding court size and some extra area around the sides for creating in-bound plays. PlaybookBball-To Go will not allow you to change the court size for a play once a play has been created.

    Thanks for the support Casey!

    Hi,

I am a HS basketball coach and just found your program in the App Store. Is there any way to use this program directly on my Mac?

    Thank you.

  4. Hi Sean,

Unfortunately, these apps currently support only the iOS platform (iPhone/iPad). In the future I may expand to other platforms, but it would require significant changes to be made.

    Thanks for your interest!

    Hi Daren,

How do I add my whole team to a play? For some plays, I have different players on the same position. When I move players around, my whole team moves! How can I avoid this? How can I add my whole team to the roster? How can I add a “slide?”

    Thanks,
    Nick

  6. Hi Nick, when you say that you have players on the same position, are you putting them there yourself? or are they starting out like that? It should be that when you tap and drag a player then only the top most player will be selected and moved. As far as adding a team to a roster… I don’t know what you are talking about since there isn’t roster support in this app. Could you please clarify? Also, for a slide, what do you mean? I am not aware of any ‘sliding’ motion for basketball. Thanks!

Struggling to learn: can you delete mistakes within plays after it is saved? How do you savw a formation (open post)? Also, the fiba court does not come up for me (keeps giving me the NBA floor). So far it is not very intuitive for me. I haven’t been able to save a whole play (keep having to delete and start over).

  8. Hi Craig! Yes, you can delete motion lines after a play is saved. To delete a line, tap on the player that you’d like to edit to bring up the Edit Player menu, then tap on ‘Clear Line’. You can also redraw any line by tapping and dragging on the player that you’d like to redraw the line for.
