Playbook Apps Support VGA Output
With the Apple Dock Connector to VGA Adapter, it is now possible to hook up any of the Playbook Apps to an external monitor or projector. VGA output could be very useful for coaches wanting to teach plays to their players. All of the Playbook Apps (PlaybookBball, PlaybookSoccer, and PlaybookWaterPolo) for the iPad support this feature. Plans are in the works to add support for the iPhone Playbook Apps as well, however, VGA output requires iPhone4 support.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
I have an iPhone 3Gs. If I get a composite a/v cable, can I display the plays that I make on the waterpolo app on a tv? I read in the description that the VGA only works on the iPhone 4 and was wondering what I could do for my phone. This is a great app and as a coach, I really want to use this as a teaching tool for my team.
Thanks!
Hi James,
Thanks for asking! I’ve only tried testing with the VGA cable on the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and iPad. It worked fine for the iPhone 4 and iPad. However, with the iPhone 3G I got a message saying that the phone doesn’t support it. I supposed that the composite A/V cable would be similar. However, one of my customers did tell me that he was able to get it working with the composite A/V cable, but I can’t remember if it was the 3G or 3GS phone.
I’ll do some research and get back to you on what I find.
Thanks again!
